- 5.0L Ti-VCT V-8 (400 hp, 410 lb-ft): Ford's legendary V-8 leverages an additional 5 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque to increase its max towing capacity by 1,500 pounds (13,000-lbs)!
- 3.5L EcoBoost® V-6 (400 hp, 500 lb-ft): Increases of 25 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque put the 2021 F-150 in line with some competitors' "Heavy Duty" models, enabling a best-in-class towing capacity of 14,000 pounds
- 3.5L PowerBoost™ V-6 (430 hp, 570 lb-ft): Ford certainly isn't new to being first-in-class. However, the all-new F-150 PowerBoost™ skips "ground-breaking" and goes straight to earth-shattering. The first full-hybrid pickup powertrain industry history combines the ultra-powerful 3.5L EcoBoost® V-6 with a 35-kW electric motor to deliver maximum power and impressive fuel efficiency. PowerBoost™ can tow up to 12,700 pounds and haul up to 2,120. And 4x2 models achieve a combined EPA-estimated rating of 25 mpg and 750-miles of total range. (4x4: EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined; 700-mile range).
Innovative Versatility
The Ford F-150 provides much more than prodigious performance. It also offers amenities to make your life easier and more convenient. New innovations for 2021 include:
- Pro Power Onboard: The 2021 F-150 is the industry's first pickup to double as a mobile generator. EcoBoost and V8 models offer an available 2.0kW and four 120V outlets, more than enough to power a hammer drill and reciprocating saw simultaneously. F-150 PowerBoost comes standard with 2.4kW and offers an available 7.2kW output with six outlets.

- Next-Gen Connectivity: The F-150 is perfect for Ford's all-new SYNC 4 infotainment system. Twice the processing power of its SYNC 3 predecessor, SYNC 4 features state-of-the-art cloud-based connectivity, with quick response to conversational requests. Standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide cable-free smartphone integration with the 8-inch touchscreen. Or enjoy advanced split-screen capability of a 12-inch display.
What's coming in 2022?
Without official word from Ford, there's no way to definitively determine what's in the pipeline for the 2022 F-150. And with an extensive, generation-advancing 2021 redesign under its belt, we don't expect monumental changes. However, a fully electric F-150 EV is in the works, and while it likely not be in the 2022 lineup, we may get more information about a possible 2023 launch.
